Hydlar® Z Sheet

Hydlar® Z is a Kevlar® fiber reinforced Nylon 6/6. The addition of Kevlar® to the nylon 6/6 makes for a unique, super tough set of properties. Hydlar Z®  possesses a combination of physical properties that is not found in any other commercially available engineered plastic. Hydlar Z® is manufactured exclusively by Ensinger.

Hydlar® Z's Properties

  • Extremely wear resistant

  • Increased surface temperature capability

  • High abrasion resistance

  • Will not gall  mating and wear surfaces

  • Good dimensional stability

  • Excellent machinability 

Compared to standard Nylon 6/6,Hydlar® Z's properties include better dimensional stability and wear resistance which is increased by as much as ten times unfilled 6/6 extruded nylon.

Hydlar® Z's Applications 

Hydlar® is an excellent choice for a wide range of industrial applications where high strength, extreme wear resistance and low abrasiveness are required. Some of the most typical applications include: 

  • Wear strips

  • Bearings

  • Bushings

  • Rollers

  • Gears
